INFO:

A silly little Screenlet to display virtual pets from Squiby.net on the desktop.
You can get a Squiby account and pets at http://www.squiby.net/.

INSTALLATION:
If you are using the Screenlets Manager, "Screenlets 0.1.2", just click the Install button, select "Install Screenlet", and navigate to the tar.gz file you saved. For manual installation, extract the contents of the screenlet's archive to the ".screenlets" folder in your home folder (usually "/home/<username>"). You may need to set your file browser to show hidden files and folders in order to see ".screenlets" folder.

NOTE: Screenlets Manager gives a warning that the screenlet file was not packaged using screenlets-packager (it was...), but it should work just fine anyways.

USAGE:

In Screenlets Manager, select DeskSquiby and click Launch/Add. It may take a few moments to load as it must fetch the image from the Squiby servers. Please note that DeskSquiby will only draw from your "Favorites" category.

To launch manually:
Open a terminal window and navigate to the screenlet's directory:

	$ cd /home/<username>/.screenlets/DeskSquiby

Execute DeskSquiby's main file using python:

	$ ./DeskSquibyScreenlet.py

IMPORTANT: To get DeskSquiby to look at your profile and not mine (my squibies, let me show you them), right click, select "Properties...", the "Options" tab, and "Squiby". Enter your username in the box, replacing any spaces with a plus sign (+). You can also set the update interval to whatever you want, although too often might be a drag on the Squiby servers (your entire profile is loaded with each change). I find that 15-30 minutes is a nice amount of time to "hang out" with a Squiby and appreciate the artwork.

Enjoy!
