Section I
Minibrowser Basics

-------------

The Minibrowser is quite possibly the coolest part of winamp. It can do
a wide Variety of things, these will be discussed later. For now i will explain
all you need to know to do everyday things. The following chapters in this section
will tech you how to Link up to www.winamp.com, view any site on the web, and
view an offline HTML document.

-------------
Chapter 1
Online
-------------
Introduction
-------------

The Minibrowser was intended for use online....so thats where i will
start.

-------------
Explanation
-------------

When you start the Minibrowser (Alt+T) (right click on the main window
and select Minibrowser) you get a screen with four links (Winamp Radio,
Free Skins,Free Plug-ins, and Grab Some Music) each explaining there function.
There is also a link to the Nullsoft Inc page. When you click these (and are
connected to the net) Winamp opens a new window in Internet Explorer bringing
you to the page for what you clicked.

Some think that this is all that the Minibrowser can do. Well what if
i told you that you can do more with the Minibrowser then you can do with
Windows Explorer? Would you think im BSing you? Well, some would think that, but
your not that stupid.

-------------
Operations
-------------

How to Open Any Webpage in the minibrowser*

While the minibrowser is selected press Ctrl+O, a small window will
popup. Highlight the text in the window
(most probly file:///C:/Program Files/Winamp/winampmb.htm)and type
http://www.<URL><EXT> (type the URL [part after the www. , but before the
<EXT>] in place of <URL>. Type the exstention [.com / .edu / .org / .gov ect]
in place of <EXT>). Click Open. The Webpage should now be displayed in the
minibrowser, you can now do anything that you could do in internet Explorer.**

*Some websites may not work
** Limit of only one window

How to Open Any Picture in the minibrowser (Transloading)

First you need to find a picture you want to transload. To do this you
must have a site URL (discussed above). Then you need to know the URL of the
picture (to obtain this information right-click on the picture you want to
transload, click settings [normally on the way bottom], in the middle of the
window you will see somthing like "Adress (URL)" [this is differnt depending
on your OS version], highlight the text next to this, press Ctrl+C while it is
highlited) press OK or cance, thenl Press Ctrl+O, highlight the text in the box,
press Ctrl+V, then press open. If you have dont this correctly you will see the
picture you wanted alone in the minibrowser, this is a better way of viewing
pictures alone without saving them to your hard drive.

-------------
Chapter 2
Offline
-------------
Introduction
-------------

If you remember back to the first time you opened the open window you
saw file:/// . file:/// is very similer to http:// , it provides a similer
function, but dose not use the internet. This is where i explain teh basic
uses of this function.

-------------
Explanation
-------------

Some people may know HTML (hyper Text Markup Languge) this is the
section for them, if you do not know HTML, you might want to skip over this
Chapter, it deals with viewing .htm , and .html files off your hard drive.

-------------
Operations
-------------

Veiwing an HTML (.htm , .html) file off your hard drive.

This is relitively simple if your an HTML programmer , your probly know
about http:// , and possibly file:/// . To open an HTML file press Ctrl+O , type
file:/// <drive> <folder*>//<File Name> (<drive> = C:/ , A:/ , D:/
Z:/ , <folder> = the name of the folder the subfolder or file is in.
= Teh folder that the file or another subfolder is in (this process
may repeat many times <File Name> = The name of the file ) press open , The
document should load, if it fails to first check your coding for errors.

*dosn't have to be there, if it isnt dont put the / after where it would be. For
subfolders add an extra / after each subfolder name.

Section I
Advanced Uses
-------------

I said before that the minibrowser can be more powerfull then Windows
explorer, here is where i will explain this. Note that this is the advanced
section, it will not explain every detail like the basics. In this section i
will teach you how to view any file you can imagine*.

* limited to only what IE can open
-------------
Chapter 1
Advanced uses
-------------
Introduction
-------------

One day i was bord so i decided to mess around with winamp. Thats where
it all started.

-------------
Explanatiion
-------------

The following will explain how to do various things in the minibrowser.

-------------
Operations
-------------

Note that the method of opening these off your hard drive is the same as opening
an HTML document, just a diffent filename.

So far i have opened successfully,

        Drives
        Folders
	Pictures (.bmp .gif)
        HTML
        Text Files (.txt)
	Skins (download)
	.zip Files
MP3's (fail to play but load)
.cda (Cd files) (download) (this is a really good way to make a Music CD
that will play in older CD players)
	Palm (.prc ect) (download)
.cnt (i think its a programming language file*)
.isu (i have no clue what it is* ) Download
.adl (i think its a programming language file*)
	.dll (download)
	.dat (download)
.tpa (i think its a programming language file*)
	.exe (certin ones will download)
.cfg (Configuration files for servers on A.R.C.)

I know that these types dont work,

	.exe
        .cur
        .ani
	.xlt
	.vbx
	.dbf

If you have successfully opened a differnt type of file, or found one that dose
not work please e-mail me at AANightstalker@aol.com , you will be credited.

* if you could clarify what these filetypes are that would be appreciated.
